Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Patriots spent pick No. 222 on Isaac TeSlaa, a name the board had a full 170 spots lower.

Stutsman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

The Patriots indulged a want in Schwesinger while a need in quarterback stayed open. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
