The Cowboys found their guy under center in Ward: D.

The Cowboys did not so much draft KJ Jefferson as overpay for him, 91 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

The Jackson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Cam Ward gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

Spending an early pick on safety with cornerback and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
