The Cowboys finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D.

The tape said wait; the Cowboys did not. Barryn Sorrell went at Round 5, Pick 31, a good 126 picks before the board was ready.

That Martinez pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The whole projection now runs through Jaxson Dart; hit there and everything else looks smarter.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. It is not that Winston Jr. is a bad player; it is that the Cowboys had louder needs to answer first.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.
