Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

The Jordan Whittington pick is the one that will follow the Bills into the fall. They took him 25 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Bailey value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In pick 28 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. More want than need.
Pick62 Rnd2 Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes in slot 62 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick99 Rnd3 Mohamed Kamara
They reached into another round for Mohamed Kamara, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick129 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams in the 129th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick131 Rnd4 Luke McCaffrey
A reach on Luke McCaffrey in the Round 4 slot; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick159 Rnd5 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Good price on Edefuan Ulofoshio in No. 159, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick162 Rnd5 Jaylan Ford
The board had cheaper options than Jaylan Ford at slot 162, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick197 Rnd6 Emani Bailey
Emani Bailey slid further than he should have, and No. 197 is lovely value for the running back. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick202 Rnd6 De'Corian Clark
De'Corian Clark at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick206 Rnd6 Tanor Bortolini
A premium they did not need to pay, Tanor Bortolini a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick246 Rnd7 Jordan Whittington
They talked themselves into Jordan Whittington at the 246th pick, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
