The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Jay Higgins, the 233rd overall pick, roughly 96 picks past where he belonged. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. The Blake Fisher pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
