Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
A passer of the future in Maye, and a D-, for the Broncos.

They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Jordan Jefferson, 40 picks early at the Round 5 slot.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The whole projection now runs through Drake Maye; hit there and everything else looks smarter.

That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Bailey steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In No. 7 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick38 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keon Coleman. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick68 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kiran Amegadjie in the 68th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick76 Rnd3 Marshawn Kneeland
Marshawn Kneeland at the 76th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick122 Rnd4 Andru Phillips
A tidy little value on Andru Phillips in pick 122, a step better than break-even. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick144 Rnd5 Justin Eboigbe
Justin Eboigbe at slot 144 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson at the 146th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick182 Rnd6 Luke McCaffrey
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Luke McCaffrey in Round 6, Pick 7, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick237 Rnd7 Emani Bailey
They robbed the room for Emani Bailey here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
