Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B
ValueB- NeedC+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Dolphins turned the phones into found money: B.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Dolphins came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

They will need Limmer to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That Greenfield pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Troy Fautanu
In the 31st pick they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Pick55 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
A reasonable price with a little left over, T.J. Tampa in pick 55. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick89 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany in Round 3, Pick 26 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick96 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
No drama and no debate, Zak Zinter went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick97 Rnd3 Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer at No. 97 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It fills a real need, too.
Pick152 Rnd5 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan in the 152nd overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick157 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
A reach on Javion Cohen in pick No. 157; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick186 Rnd6 Drake Nugent
Drake Nugent at slot 186 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at pick No. 200 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick239 Rnd7 Garret Greenfield
They barely believed it either: Garret Greenfield still on the board at the Round 7 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
