The 49ers bet big and early on Dominic Zvada, 47 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. About as rough as the board gets, and a F to prove it.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The Nwokobia pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Nwokobia at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with quarterback still staring back at them.
