The 49ers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and RJ Harvey fell into the 255th overall pick. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Every board in the league had Pegues lower, and that gap is the story. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
