Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall C+
ValueD- NeedA- TradesC- FutureB
The Cardinals left with their quarterback, and a C+ to match.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Cardinals took Armand Membou at Round 4, Pick 8, roughly 157 spots before his name belonged.

The Anderson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Everything downstream of Carson Beck depends on Carson Beck, and the building knows it. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Hit on Carson Beck and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Carson Beck
In pick 8 they get their quarterback of the future. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick40 Rnd2 Aeneas Peebles
Aeneas Peebles at pick No. 40 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick104 Rnd4 Armand Membou
They left a pile of value on the table to take Armand Membou this early at the 104th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick136 Rnd5 Seth McLaughlin
A real head-scratcher, Seth McLaughlin in slot 136 is miles ahead of his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick168 Rnd6 Nic Anderson
You do not let a wide receiver like Nic Anderson reach the 168th overall pick and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick188 Rnd6 Tony Grimes
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tony Grimes in Round 6, Pick 28, miles early. Need-wise, a curious use of the pick.
Pick200 Rnd7 Jalon Daniels
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jalon Daniels well ahead of where he belonged. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
