The Patriots fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Patriots reached some 154 spots for Isaac TeSlaa, and value like that does not grow back. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

Getting Simon where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

It is not that Schwesinger is a bad player; it is that the Patriots had louder needs to answer first. That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
