There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cowboys started one anyway for Akheem Mesidor, 133 picks ahead of schedule. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Knight Jr.. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The Cowboys indulged a want in Starks while a need in cornerback, quarterback and other spots stayed open.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and cornerback is still a hole.
