Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C
ValueD- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a C.

The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Quinn Ewers, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. A weekend of give and take that grades a C.

The cost of the Ewers reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Getting Walker where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

So much rides on Quinn Ewers that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Quinn Ewers
In the 1st overall pick they get the face of the franchise, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
Pick4 Rnd1 Xavier Worthy
In slot 4 they get a matchup problem out wide, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick68 Rnd3 Jackson Powers-Johnson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jackson Powers-Johnson. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick104 Rnd4 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in pick 104 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick132 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at the 132nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick141 Rnd5 Darius Robinson
No drama and no debate, Darius Robinson went about where he belonged in No. 141. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick182 Rnd6 Devontez Walker
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick No. 182 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick225 Rnd7 Jalen Catalon
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jalen Catalon in the Round 7 slot. The roster logic is harder to follow.
