Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Browns did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

The Browns treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending slot 200 on Shemar James a full 40 spots early. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Judkins value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They went 8 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Abdul Carter
In the 2nd pick they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart at the 33rd overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Elijah Arroyo
They took Elijah Arroyo at par in pick No. 67, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Pick94 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
They barely believed it either: Quinshon Judkins still on the board at slot 94. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick104 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
They did well to land Tez Johnson in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick179 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
A real head-scratcher, Jordan Hancock in pick 179 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick192 Rnd6 Jalen McLeod
They paid up for Jalen McLeod at slot 192 when waiting would have done the job. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick200 Rnd6 Shemar James
Shemar James in the Round 6 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick216 Rnd6 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
A quiet steal in the 216th overall pick: Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson for less than the market said. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick255 Rnd7 Brandon Adams
No drama and no debate, Brandon Adams went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 39. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
