Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Bills spent the Round 6 slot on Andrew Raym, a name the board had a full 36 spots lower. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Wingo at that price is a win they earned.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In No. 28 they get a sticky cover corner, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
Pick60 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
A premium they did not need to pay, Xavier Legette a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick127 Rnd4 Mekhi Wingo
They read the board right and Mekhi Wingo was the payoff at the 127th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick133 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
A conviction pick on Tommy Eichenberg at pick 133 that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick143 Rnd5 Sione Vaki
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Sione Vaki well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick159 Rnd5 Jha'Quan Jackson
Jha'Quan Jackson at slot 159 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick162 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
Javion Cohen at No. 162 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick188 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at slot 188 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick199 Rnd6 Andrew Raym
Value said wait; Andrew Raym in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick203 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III in Round 6, Pick 28 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick248 Rnd7 Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal in the 248th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
