A costly weekend of dealing drags the Texans to a D.

The Texans clearly saw something nobody else did in Julius Welschof, taking him 82 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. With interior defensive lineman and quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on DT-EDGE is the choice that costs them.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
