The Broncos let Pearsall fall into their laps, and walked away with a D+. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Broncos did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. Hard to defend, and the D+ reflects that.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with linebacker and running back still on the board. Reiman has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.
