Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA FutureC+
The Eagles cashed the board's mistake on Jones: B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Eagles were there to profit. Christian Jones, the No. 132 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 5, Pick 35. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In pick 22 they get a bendy edge with upside, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick23 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In slot 23 they get a problem off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50 Rnd2 Kamari Lassiter
Kamari Lassiter at Round 2, Pick 18 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick98 Rnd3 Trey Benson
Trey Benson slipping to No. 98 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick161 Rnd5 Ainias Smith
Taking Ainias Smith in the 161st pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick171 Rnd5 Christian Jones
They will replay Christian Jones at pick No. 171 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick172 Rnd5 Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing at the Round 5 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick210 Rnd6 Johnny Dixon
Johnny Dixon at the 210th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
