Maye is the plan now, and the Broncos grade out a D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Broncos shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

They have staked the next five years on Drake Maye, which is the only story that really matters here. The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Reaching for Johnson left real value on the table behind him. They banked enough surplus on Coleman to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.

Pick54 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 22, with Keon Coleman worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick72 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kiran Amegadjie at slot 72. It fills a real need, too.
Pick121 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
They paid up for Ben Sinnott at pick 121 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick136 Rnd4 Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten in pick No. 136 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

Justin Eboigbe in the 145th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
