Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
C+
ValueB-

FutureB
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Wilson from sliding. Grade: C+. The phones were a trap the Seahawks kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.
Landing Wilson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Every board in the league had Van Pran lower, and that gap is the story.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick Analysis
Pick37
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in the 37th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick59
Rnd2
Sedrick Van Pran
They paid up for Sedrick Van Pran at No. 59 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick81
Rnd3
Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in the 81st overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick86
Rnd3
Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. at slot 86 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick96
Rnd3
Mike Sainristil
A cornerback of that caliber at pick 96 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick102
Rnd4
Jalen McMillan
Nothing to complain about; Jalen McMillan went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick108
Rnd4
Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter in Round 4, Pick 8 lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick118
Rnd4
Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at pick No. 118 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick129
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
No drama and no debate, Mohamed Kamara went about where he belonged in the 129th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick179
Rnd6
Sione Vaki
Sione Vaki in pick 179 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jordan Jefferson
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 6 slot with a little surplus value in Jordan Jefferson. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick192
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at the 192nd overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick235
Rnd7
Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield in slot 235 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
