Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall
B-

FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Steelers. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Steelers would have aced it. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at Round 4, Pick 20 is 29 spots clear of where he belonged.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Spending an early pick on DT-EDGE with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
In slot 21 they get an island corner at fair value.
Pick53
Rnd2
Tyler Guyton
Value with a capital V on Tyler Guyton in pick 53, a genuine coup. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick93
Rnd3
Maason Smith
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the Round 3 slot on Maason Smith with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved.
Pick120
Rnd4
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint. It fills a real need, too.
Pick121
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
A reach on Tommy Eichenberg in pick No. 121; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick199
Rnd6
Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor at No. 199 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick208
Rnd6
Jaylen Harrell
They jumped the gun on Jaylen Harrell, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick242
Rnd7
Marcus Harris
A big swing on Marcus Harris at the Round 7 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
