Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Every other box got a look, but linebacker did not. The Bills will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

The Grable steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Crumedy pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Troy Franklin
In the 28th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
They did well to land Xavier Worthy in Round 2, Pick 28, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick128 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
By-the-book stuff, Mohamed Kamara at the 128th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick134 Rnd4 Christian Jones
Christian Jones in pick No. 134 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick144 Rnd5 Nehemiah Pritchett
A straight-up fair deal on Nehemiah Pritchett at pick 144, value and slot in agreement. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick160 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
They took Tykee Smith at par in No. 160, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick163 Rnd5 Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. slipping to slot 163 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick189 Rnd6 M.J. Devonshire
They paid sticker price for M.J. Devonshire in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick200 Rnd6 Drake Nugent
They paid a round early for Drake Nugent in No. 200, more than the board wanted. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick204 Rnd6 Jaden Crumedy
A wild overpay on Jaden Crumedy in the 204th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick248 Rnd7 Tylan Grable
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tylan Grable at the Round 7 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
