Best value of the weekend goes to the Steelers for Franklin: B-.

The curious call sets the tone. With safety, edge rusher and other spots still glaring, the Steelers used the 119th overall pick on Javon Foster, an offensive lineman they were not exactly short of.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. However the rest shakes out, Franklin at that price is a win they earned.

The Travis reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
