The Patriots kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

The Patriots clearly saw something nobody else did in DJ Giddens, taking him 31 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. With edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

However the rest shakes out, Loveland at that price is a win they earned. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
