Draft Grade — Panthers

More right than wrong for the Panthers, and a B- to prove it. Everything else got attention, and wide receiver got none. That is a strange way for the Panthers to leave a draft. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The Watts pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Reaching for Walker left real value on the table behind him. They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In slot 8 they get a green-dot type in the middle, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts at the 57th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
