When a board-topper like Payton Wilson slides to the Round 2 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Bills did not.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Smith pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
