Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall D
ValueA- NeedB- TradesF FutureB
The Falcons cashed the board's mistake on Williams: D.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Falcons, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Put together, it is a D.

However the rest shakes out, Williams at that price is a win they earned. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Adding Trey Hendrickson by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick35 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jalon Walker in the 35th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick46 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Circle this one: Malaki Starks at pick 46 is a fall that decides a draft. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick103 Rnd4 Elic Ayomanor
A wide receiver of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 1 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick118 Rnd4 Cameron Williams
Somehow Cameron Williams was still sitting there in slot 118, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick167 Rnd5 Dorian Strong
Steal is underselling it; Dorian Strong at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick188 Rnd6 CJ West
CJ West at the 188th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick218 Rnd7 Willie Lampkin
You do not let an offensive lineman like Willie Lampkin reach Round 7, Pick 2 and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick242 Rnd7 Robert Longerbeam
Robert Longerbeam in pick No. 242 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
