FutureA+
A solid, sensible weekend for the Commanders: B. It is the swing that defines the weekend: Fadil Diggs in No. 128, a good 100 spots before the room expected him. No fireworks, but a solid B.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Marks.
They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick86
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 22, with Zy Alexander worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick101
Rnd3
Jaylin Noel
Good price on Jaylin Noel in the Round 3 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick128
Rnd4
Fadil Diggs
A real head-scratcher, Fadil Diggs in slot 128 is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick205
Rnd6
Woody Marks
Woody Marks at the 205th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jaylin Smith
No edge and no loss on Jaylin Smith in pick 245; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
