The Browns lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story.

The Browns treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending No. 65 on Jalen Milroe a full 30 spots early.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They banked enough surplus on Parrish to cover a lot of smaller sins. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
