The 49ers lost the trade table, and the C- tells the story.

The war room fell hard for Jamaree Caldwell, and it showed at pick 238: 76 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. It lands right in the middle: a C-, no more, no less.

They banked enough surplus on Lambert-Smith to cover a lot of smaller sins. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Trevor Lawrence deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
