Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the 49ers.

The 49ers clearly saw something nobody else did in JJ Pegues, taking him 37 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. That Noel pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.

No edge and no loss on Mason Taylor in pick No. 75; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
