Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The 49ers lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story.

Somebody took the 49ers to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Ratledge pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Milum falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Van Jefferson gives the group a proven body among the projects.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Emery Jones Jr.
In pick No. 31 they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick46 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge at pick 46 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick63 Rnd2 Parker Brailsford
The board had cheaper options than Parker Brailsford at the 63rd overall pick, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick95 Rnd3 Jason Marshall Jr.
Fair-plus on Jason Marshall Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick127 Rnd4 Wyatt Milum
A slide stopped in slot 127, with Wyatt Milum worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jasheen Davis
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jasheen Davis at the Round 5 slot. It fills a real need, too.
Pick159 Rnd5 Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant at Round 5, Pick 31 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick191 Rnd6 Francisco Mauigoa
Good price on Francisco Mauigoa in the 191st pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick223 Rnd7 Gee Scott Jr.
Nice patience on Gee Scott Jr., who had no business lasting to pick 223. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
