A franchise passer in Ward headlines a D- weekend for the 49ers.

The tape said wait; the 49ers did not. Gino Garcia went at the 255th pick, a good 32 picks before the board was ready. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Everything downstream of Cam Ward depends on Cam Ward, and the building knows it.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Wilson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
