The 49ers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B+.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The 49ers reached some 101 spots for Warren Brinson, and value like that does not grow back.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Helm. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
