The move everyone will second-guess came early. The 49ers reached some 42 spots for Derrick Moore, and value like that does not grow back. The warnings were there, and the F is the bill.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Reese falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
