Larceny in No. 75 lands the 49ers a D-, Stowers and all.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The 49ers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The 49ers indulged a want in Ramsey while a need in running back and edge rusher stayed open. Every board in the league had Rodriguez lower, and that gap is the story.

Stowers falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.

In pick 27 they get a blindside protector at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.

They reached into another round for Jacob Rodriguez, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.

Omar Cooper Jr. at the 59th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
