The move everyone will second-guess came early. The 49ers reached some 53 spots for AJ Green, and value like that does not grow back.

It is not that Bolden is a bad player; it is that the 49ers had louder needs to answer first. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Bolden value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
