Grand theft in pick 191: the 49ers steal Singleton and grade out a C+.

Somebody in the 191st pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Nicholas Singleton, the No. 103 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will need Griffith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
In No. 15 they get a home-run threat at receiver, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick29 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
Mykel Williams at Round 1, Pick 29 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick60 Rnd2 Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild in slot 60 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick102 Rnd4 Logan Brown
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Logan Brown. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick113 Rnd4 Azareye'h Thomas
They read the board right and Azareye'h Thomas was the payoff at the Round 4 slot. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick137 Rnd4 Chris Paul Jr.
They robbed the room for Chris Paul Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick191 Rnd6 Nicholas Singleton
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Nicholas Singleton in pick 191, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick233 Rnd7 Thor Griffith
Thor Griffith in the 233rd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick248 Rnd7 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster at the 248th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick249 Rnd7 Jonah Monheim
They barely believed it either: Jonah Monheim still on the board at the 249th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick254 Rnd7 Terrance Ferguson
Terrance Ferguson in pick 254 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
