You can draft well and still miss the point. The 49ers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most.

Linton at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
