The phones were a trap the Seahawks kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at wide receiver, quarterback and other spots. The cost of the Frazier reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left wide receiver open, and the grade is the bill.
