Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Williams should have been long gone. The 49ers pounced, and earned a B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Cameron Williams at Round 5, Pick 9 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

Kuithe has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Josh Simmons
They took Josh Simmons at par in pick No. 11, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick43 Rnd2 T.J. Sanders
A tidy little value on T.J. Sanders in slot 43, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick75 Rnd3 Isaiah Bond
A straight-up fair deal on Isaiah Bond at the 75th pick, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick100 Rnd3 Denzel Burke
They paid a round early for Denzel Burke in the 100th overall pick, more than the board wanted. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick113 Rnd4 Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick138 Rnd4 Billy Bowman Jr.
Somehow Billy Bowman Jr. was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 36, and they pounced on premier safety value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick147 Rnd5 Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams in No. 147 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick160 Rnd5 Andres Borregales
Andres Borregales in pick 160 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick227 Rnd7 Tahj Brooks
They barely believed it either: Tahj Brooks still on the board at the Round 7 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick249 Rnd7 Brant Kuithe
They talked themselves into Brant Kuithe at pick No. 249, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick252 Rnd7 Torricelli Simpkins III
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Torricelli Simpkins III. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
