There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bears took Dylan Fairchild a full 32 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Starks pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
