The real work happened on the phones. The Commanders fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for Brown left real value on the table behind him. Getting Wilson III where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

The Tyrel Dodson deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
