Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB- TradesB FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Dolphins a B-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Dolphins took Keaton Bills a full 42 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

On value alone, McGlothern makes the weekend a net positive. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Morgan at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick55 Rnd2 Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran at slot 55 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It fills a real need, too.
Pick69 Rnd3 Renardo Green
A conviction pick on Renardo Green at the 69th pick that the board grades a round light. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick105 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter at pick No. 105 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick110 Rnd4 Trevor Keegan
They reached a country mile for Trevor Keegan at pick 110, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick158 Rnd5 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey slid further than he should have, and the 158th overall pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick181 Rnd6 Dwight McGlothern
Dwight McGlothern in pick No. 181 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick184 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
A big swing on Jaylen Harrell at the Round 6 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick198 Rnd6 Keaton Bills
Keaton Bills in slot 198 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick241 Rnd7 Matthew Jones
Matthew Jones at Round 7, Pick 21 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
