Best value of the weekend goes to the Broncos for Williams: B-. Somebody in the 163rd overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Broncos sat still while Antonio Williams, the No. 138 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. Wease Jr. has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. The roster is better shaped than it was, with tight end chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick67
Rnd3
Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III at the 67th overall pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick101
Rnd4
Keon Sabb
A reasonable price with a little left over, Keon Sabb in the 101st pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick134
Rnd5
Caden Prieskorn
They went early on Caden Prieskorn in slot 134, and the value did not follow. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick163
Rnd6
Antonio Williams
Somehow Antonio Williams was still sitting there in No. 163, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick166
Rnd6
Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. in pick 166 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick219
Rnd7
Zy Alexander
A tidy little value on Zy Alexander in Round 7, Pick 27, a step better than break-even. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
