Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Browns bet the future on Sanders. The board says B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Chris Paul Jr. tumbling to the Browns in pick 214 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

So much rides on Shedeur Sanders that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. They are betting Brooks proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant is a better player than pick 34 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick65 Rnd3 Charles Grant
A wild overpay on Charles Grant in pick 65, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick93 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in slot 93 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Pick105 Rnd4 Deontae Lawson
They robbed the room for Deontae Lawson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick166 Rnd5 Ja'Corey Brooks
They reached a country mile for Ja'Corey Brooks at Round 5, Pick 29, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick177 Rnd6 Chandler Rivers
Chandler Rivers in No. 177 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick191 Rnd6 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton in the 191st pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jonah Monheim
They took Jonah Monheim at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick214 Rnd6 Chris Paul Jr.
They barely believed it either: Chris Paul Jr. still on the board at the 214th overall pick. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick215 Rnd6 Cody Simon
Taking Cody Simon in slot 215 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
