Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B

Huzzie should have been long gone. The Browns pounced, and earned a B.

Call it larceny. Alijah Huzzie sat on the board until the Round 7 slot, and the Browns did not need to be asked twice. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Abdul Carter
In Round 1, Pick 2 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick33 Rnd2 Cam Ward
Cam Ward in pick No. 33 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick67 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
The board had TreVeyon Henderson higher than the Round 3 slot, and the running back fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jack Bech
Jack Bech at the 103rd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick104 Rnd4 Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson in the 104th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick120 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
A tidy bit of business in slot 120, where Anthony Belton graded well above the range. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick179 Rnd6 Nick Nash
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 179 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick192 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
A clean, defensible pick in No. 192 with a little surplus value in JJ Pegues. It fills a real need, too.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jaylen Reed
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jaylen Reed at pick No. 200. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick216 Rnd6 Karene Reid
A reasonable price with a little left over, Karene Reid in the 216th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick255 Rnd7 Alijah Huzzie
Steal is underselling it; Alijah Huzzie at slot 255 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
