Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
A-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesA+
FutureA
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Browns a A-. The Isaac Brown pick is the one that will follow the Browns into the fall. They took him 43 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Stone.
The Boye Mafe pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. They went 9 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Bottom line, with Dylan Stewart leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Dylan Stewart
In pick No. 10 they get a problem off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick24
Rnd1
Austin Siereveld
Austin Siereveld at the Round 1 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick39
Rnd2
David Stone
Somehow David Stone was still sitting there in slot 39, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick70
Rnd3
Jamari Sharpe
By-the-book stuff, Jamari Sharpe at pick 70 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick107
Rnd4
Dylan Raiola
Dylan Raiola at Round 4, Pick 7 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick139
Rnd5
Luke Reynolds
A clean, defensible pick in the 139th overall pick with a little surplus value in Luke Reynolds. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jayce Brown
Nothing to complain about; Jayce Brown went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick147
Rnd5
Mateen Ibirogba
Mateen Ibirogba at the Round 5 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick187
Rnd6
Aaron Flowers
Taking Aaron Flowers in Round 6, Pick 8 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Pick204
Rnd6
Isaac Brown
They left a pile of value on the table to take Isaac Brown this early at slot 204. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick248
Rnd7
Smith Snowden
Smith Snowden at the 248th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
