Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesC+ FutureB+
More right than wrong for the 49ers, and a B to prove it.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The 49ers reached some 43 spots for Kaleb Elarms-Orr, and value like that does not grow back. The bottom line is a respectable B.

That Sarratt pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In slot 27 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick58 Rnd2 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at pick 58 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick92 Rnd3 Elijah Sarratt
Circle this one: Elijah Sarratt at Round 3, Pick 28 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick127 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
The board had Jalon Kilgore higher than the 127th pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick133 Rnd4 Kaleb Elarms-Orr
A wild overpay on Kaleb Elarms-Orr in the Round 4 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
Pick170 Rnd5 Marlin Klein
Marlin Klein in the 170th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
