The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Browns watched Deontae Lawson slide 147 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A to cap it.

Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Adding Dion Dawkins by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

In the end it comes back to Ashton Jeanty, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
